It Is Possible to Enjoy Life And Slow Aging
By Tom Herrin
For people who may feel they are missing out on life as they get older, that may be far from the truth. The fact is they can slow or reverse some of their aging with a little effort that may add enjoyment at the same time. Too many people have accepted aging as an inevitable part of life in whatever form it appears. That does not have to be the case. More people are refusing to give in by choosing to live a fuller life. Many times, it doesn’t take some grand plan but simply some thinking ahead.
Some Aging Creeps Up
Simply going through a normal routine can mean that there is not enough done to affect aging. There are plenty of signs that will show up without any kind of real intervention. Blood pressure and blood sugar tend to increase as cholesterol may worsen. Muscle declines as fat increases, changing the body from a somewhat streamlined appearance to one that often resembles a fruit. Type 2 diabetes is becoming a bigger problem for many people. People frequently find it more difficult to perform everyday tasks with as much ease as they once did.
A Counterplan May Work
Studies have shown that people who have grown complacent and lived sedentary lives can make changes that have the possibility of turning some of their aging around. When these individuals have added a more aggressive program of exercise, they have seen measurable changes in their blood work. It is a known fact that exercise can improve cholesterol levels. When combined with a better diet, it can reduce blood sugar which may actually manage or prevent type 2 diabetes.
Attitude, Rest, And Good Dietary Choices Can Help
If you decide to get serious about trying to have an impact on your aging, there is good evidence that several things can help. Get out and socialize. Finding enjoyment in everyday life is a plus. Quality sleep can make you feel and look younger. You may even want to look at other cultures that have success in aging. The Japanese have a large number of people who live to advanced age. One of the staples in many of their diets is fish, which supplies a high amount of omega-3. Don’t limit yourself to the same old things that didn’t work for others. Be proactive and manage your aging. The trick is to do something now. You may find you can enjoy yourself while slowing that aging process.
