3 Ways to Love Your Mornings

The mornings can be one of the hardest parts of the day. Often times, we wake up with fatigue, aches and pains, and dread for the day ahead. It's hard to wake up with energy. It's hard to wake up with excitement. But enjoying your morning is not impossible. If you would like to wake up and actually enjoy the morning ahead, take a look at these tips for making your mornings relaxing and enjoyable.

Wake Up Earlier Than Everyone Else

This might not sound like much fun, but getting up before everyone else can actually start your morning off well. You'll get some quiet time for drinking coffee, resting in the silence, or just gentle self-reflection. It allows you to start your morning without the rush, and also gives you some of that much sought after me time. If you're not much for early mornings, just try a simple 10 minutes or so to see if it makes a difference.

Skip Technology and Screens

Technology stimulates the eyes and the brain. It ramps up our thinking and actually begins to tire us out fairly quickly. It's exhausting, even if we don't notice the effects until much later in the day. It's also stressful, which we may notice immediately. If you want a better morning, just skip the technology. Don't reach for the phone or tablet or laptop. Just soak in a bit of technology-free time, and let yourself wake up slowly and naturally.

Go to Bed Earlier

Easier said than done, I know. Mornings can be brutal for some people. But if you can go to bed just a little earlier, waking up in the morning is so much easier. You won't feel as tired and sluggish. You won't feel as rundown. Though it can take some time to get used to an earlier bedtime, it's worth the effort for the more restful mornings and more energy throughout the day.

The mornings can make or break your whole day. They help set the tone and create an overall feeling for the day ahead. If you have to be up anyway, you may as well make the mornings enjoyable, productive, and positive in nature. Use these tips to make your mornings easier, and enjoy the better day that comes along with it.
