Foods That Are Deceptively Healthy and Delicious

If you're not currently maintaining a healthy diet, the thought of making the switch might be daunting. You might picture mountains of lettuce and flavorless baked chicken. When most of us think about healthy foods, we definitely don't picture foods that are bursting with flavor. But what if we could eat healthy foods and appease the taste buds at the same time? Luckily, it's possible! If you would like to trick yourself into eating healthier, take a look at these three foods that are deceptively health and completely delicious.

Fruit

Fruit is so healthy! Fruits are full of various vitamins and minerals, and each fruit offers its own set of healthy benefits. And while most people probably associate fruit with health, you may not expect the absolute wealth of flavors that comes with them. From sweet apples to juicy watermelon to tart cherries, fruit comes in all shapes, sizes, and flavors. Choose one (or many!) that suits your taste buds, and enjoy eating these delicious, healthy treats!

Dark Chocolate

Chocolate can be so healthy and good for the body. Who knew? But the catch is that the chocolate has to be the dark variety. You can't binge on milk chocolate and expect to gain the benefits. Choosing a dark version once per day can offer your body powerful antioxidants and give your heart a boost. If you can learn to like the slightly bitter taste of dark chocolate, then you can enjoy chocolate without the guilt all year long. 

Nuts

When you throw a handful of nuts into your mouth, it feels like you're getting away with something. It feels like eating chips, salty and delicious but lacking health. But nuts can actually be super healthy. They are full of protein, healthy fats, and a variety of other nutrients, depending on the specific nut. Eat them sparingly, as nuts are high in calories, but enjoy a few without worrying whether they're junk food.

Not all healthy food is bland and boring. We've been conditioned to believe such nonsense, but luckily, it's just not true! Plenty of foods pack a powerful punch of flavor and health benefits, too. Use these foods to get started, and you'll be moving toward a healthy diet in no time at all.
