Fitness Fit for Fall: 5 Fun Choices
By Brandi Goodman
The fall season is upon us, which is the time many people start to slow down on their fitness goals and speed up on their holiday eating habits. Fitness can be maintained in the fall with some fun choices that make it worthwhile. You can use all of the autumn activities to your advantage.
Attend All the Fall Events
Fall events typically last from September through November. Apple picking at an orchard, churches throwing festivals, corn mazes, hayrides, and more are all on the list. Attend all of these so you have plenty of opportunities throughout the season to get some exercise in. You'll be walking all over, exploring the offerings and working out your lower body in particular.
Go for a Hike
A hike through the changing trees offers a beautiful sight. Explore the wilderness as you hike and see what nature has to offer. You'll get a great lower body workout in the process. Make it a regular occurrence to make the most of the option.
Join a Class
The fall season is when many people start back at school. Even as an adult, you can continue learning. Join a fitness class that has you learning new moves. If you've always wanted to learn how to kickbox, find a class. If you want to learn a particular dance, find a class for that. There's lots of options to choose from that will have you working up a sweat.
Ride a Bike
Riding a bike isn't just meant for the summer season. You can continue to ride in the fall and enjoy the peaceful ambiance that an autumn scene provides. Even a leisurely ride will have your lower body working hard and you burning calories.
Outdoor Boot Camp
Sign up for an outdoor boot camp that has you using your body weight and your surroundings to get in a workout. Some offerings may combine indoor and outdoor options depending on the session. Exercising outdoors in the fall is a great way to stay fit while getting to enjoy the beautiful weather outside that's no longer too hot to perform.
Give these fun fall fitness choices a try and see which you like best. Maintaining your health and wellness includes staying fit and active. Don't let the fall and winter months deter you from doing that.
