Why Your Current Weight Loss Plan Isn't Working
By Genevieve Cunningham
Losing weight is a tough thing to do. Most of us want to accomplish the task, but there always seem to be a million obstacles in the way. We don’t have enough time. We don’t have the resources. We don’t have enough energy. And sometimes when we finally get started down a weight loss path, it just won’t work! What’s the deal? If you’re getting frustrated with your own lack of progress, take a look at these reasons why your current plan just isn’t working.
You’re Not Taking it Seriously Enough
Even though we don’t want to go to extremes, you have to take weight loss seriously. If you only put forth half the effort or only give it a fraction of your thoughts, it’s probably not going to work. Find a healthy middle ground. Don’t obsess, but make it a goal that gets your time and focus. The more serious you take the challenge, the more results you’re going to see in the long run.
You’re Overestimating Your Calorie Output
In order to lose weight, you have to burn more calories than you consume. And while it’s fairly easy to determine how many you’re consuming (it’s on the package!), it’s a bit tougher to really know how many calories you’re burning. And there’s a good chance that you’re overestimating. If your current plan isn’t working, adjust your calorie output and try again.
You Haven’t Found the Sweet Spot
When it comes to weight loss, there’s a sweet spot for maximum success. Too many calories and you won’t lose. Too little exercise and you won’t lose. Too much of an imbalance and you won’t lose. It takes time to find this perfect concoction of habits that work for you. Once you find the sweet spot, your weight will drop. If you haven’t found it yet, keep researching and experimenting. When you find it, you’ll know, and your results will show faster than ever before.
Losing weight may be hard, but it’s absolutely not impossible, and it's definitely worth the effort. If you’re trying and not losing, make sure these little situations aren’t holding you back. With some hard work, patience, and changes when necessary, you’ll meet your goals and feel better than ever in no time at all.
