Chiropractic Tip: Think Like the Therapists Do

By Sandy Schroeder

Really wish you could find ways to feel grounded every day? When work stresses you out, finances keep you awake, and your family never settles down, it is easy to feel a little shaky, but there are better answers out there.

WellAndGood suggests we look to the therapists and find out how they deal with their own problems. Here are some of their tips.

Put worry in its place - I like WellAndGood's summary: "Worry is thought garbage. There is no correlation between worry and outcome." How many times have all of us envisioned a terrible situation, only to see the real results turn out to be OK?  All of that stress and negative energy took its toll on us for no reason. One therapist says she uses this approach when worry looms. She asks herself if she can solve the issue, and what can be done. If there are no good answers, worry is not going to help.

Pause, take a deep breath and really think - Try a brief meditation to defuse worry and anxiety. When things get crazy, step away, find a quiet spot, sit down and just breathe. Let your brain and body recover. When you return to the chaos you may feel a lot more grounded and think more clearly.

Actually ask what could happen? - When worry simply won't go away, ask yourself what the worst case consequences would be, and can you live with them? Just answering those questions may give you some relief. When I do this, I do not always like my answers, but I usually feel better having examined the situation, and often it turns out better than I expected.

Let Chiropractic Help

As you get a grip on worry and anxiety, chiropractic may provide the additional mental and physical support that you need.

The Joint Chiropractic clinic helps individuals solve all sorts of issues every day. Their doctors of chiropractic will start where you are to help you find pain relief, and become more healthy and fit.

When you come in, your chiropractor will explain how spinal health affects overall health. The spine keeps us mobile and the central nervous system inside controls our brain-to-body communication. When your spine is healthy, you probably are too.

A gentle targeted spinal adjustment may relieve pain and create well-being with better sleep, more energy, or more alertness. As you evaluate your benefits you may want to use weekly 15-minute spinal adjustments to keep the benefits coming.

At the same time, you and your chiropractor can pursue any lingering worry issues, and deal with any new problems.

Stop in at The Joint Chiropractic clinic near you to find out more about the affordable personal healthcare plans that eliminate the hassle of insurance. Evening and weekend hours make visits simple and walk-in visits are welcome.
