Keeping Skin Healthy Is Not Too Difficult
By Tom Herrin
Some things are pretty difficult to accomplish. Some things are not really that hard. Taking care of our skin may actually be something we can do a pretty good job of by making a few improvements in our regular practices. Probably all of us would like to look our best. At one time, many of us thought that pampering our skin was for those who were less outdoorsy types. Today we know better as taking care of our skin may be something that can have a lasting effect on us and our health. It isn't that hard, but we need to include some good additions or adjustments to our routines.
Use Skin Care Products Right After Bathing
When we bath or shower, we are exposed to lots of water. Our skin likely takes in a lot of it. If we will use skin care products almost immediately after getting out we may be able to retain more of the moisture. Waiting until later to apply these products may be less productive and much like applying a bandage. Retaining the moisture from the bath or shower may be more effective than replacing it afterwards.
Consume Healthy Fats
While many of us try to avoid many fats, healthy fats can do a lot for us. They are recognized for their benefits to the heart and circulatory system. Eating foods such as some nuts, flaxseed, and avocado can provide some pretty good things. They may help our skin and hair to have an adequate amount of oils that are needed. It can prevent the skin from having excessive dryness.
Get Enough Sleep
As a society, we tend to ignore good advice on sleep. In an effort to get more done, we often forego sleep in order to squeeze in a few more hours on the job or some other pursuit. A lack of sleep likely affects us in several ways. We may be less alert and able to perform some tasks. For sure, our reaction time is slower. Our skin may be affected far more than we realize. Sleep serves a lot of purposes. One of the biggest ones is to give our bodies an opportunity to repair itself. This can help to maintain healthy skin and avoid early aging. Anytime you have been deprived of sleep, your face will easily show it. When you are rested, your face will look fresh.
