7 Cool Traits of Fascinating Folks

By Sandy Schroeder

If you know someone who always surprises and often delights you, he or she is probably a fascinating person. People who fit the description make everything look easy. Everyone is attracted to them and almost everything that they do works out.

A dear friend of mine fit this description perfectly. You never know what he will be doing, but you can be sure it will be interesting, exciting and often intriguing.

Recently Dr. Travis Bradberry, co-founder of TalentSmart, the agency that services 75 percent of the Fortune 500 companies, outlined some of the characteristics of incredibly interesting people. Here's what we can learn from watching them.

Curiosity is a non-stop habit - They never stop asking where, when or why, and they usually manage to find the details. In their search, they come across all sorts of interesting people, things and information.

There is never a dull moment - They can take an average day and turn it into an occasion. They spot the magic in everyday things and get everybody involved. The next thing that you know, you've just had a great day.

Passion is a given - They never do things halfheartedly. Most of us go up and down with our enthusiasm, but fascinating people are usually all in on a project. They may be the first ones to arrive and the last ones to leave when there is a mission underway.

They are a news hub - If you want to learn more, stick with these folks. Because they are curious, outgoing and totally open to the world, they pick up all sorts of news and sources. If you have a question, ask them. They are quite likely to know the answer.

They are humble and happy - Because they are so enthusiastic and outgoing, most people seek them out, but they are never worried about popularity. They are just in the game because they love the action.

They never follow the crowd - In today's society, it's often tempting to find a trend and follow it, but fascinating people make their own calls. They spend the time and effort to know what's going on and then they make thoughtful decisions based on all of the facts that they have assembled.

Watch them communicate - Becoming just as fascinating as these folks can be a challenge, but you can learn a whole lot by just watching the way they interact with others. They actually take the time to listen, and they respond with real questions. People instantly pick up on their interest and a real conversation is almost always guaranteed.

Whenever I am bored or looking to spark my day, I just ask myself what my fascinating friend would do, and I have a batch of great ideas. Watch for fascinating people and watch what they do.
