3 Ways to Boost Health First Thing in the Morning

Mornings are tough. We drag ourselves out of bed, run through our routine half asleep, and wake up somewhere between traffic and the morning meeting at work. But what if we could use our morning to improve our health? And what if it could be done in five minutes or less? Suddenly, the morning doesn’t seem so bad. If you would like to start your day off in a healthier manner, take a look at these three tips to try today.

Drink a Glass of Water

Most people really want that cup of coffee or that cold Coke first thing in the morning. While the debate is still hot and heavy as to whether this hurts or harms your health, there is one thing that you can do to boost energy without any health worries at all. What? Drink a glass of water. That may not sound appealing first thing in the morning, but a glass of water can actually wake you up as well as coffee, boosts your metabolism, and helps improve your focus at the very start of the day. It’s an incredibly easy way to boost your health within the first hour of waking.

Stretch

Most people stretch naturally as soon as they wake up. It’s instinct to reach the arms out and wiggle the toes and work out all of the stiff and sore spots. But why not take it one step further? Why not stretch on purpose? Taking a simple five or 10 minutes to stretch in the morning can loosen up the muscles and get the blood flowing.
