Step Up Your Exercise Routine With These Tips
By Brandi Goodman
Your exercise routine may work for a while but over time the moves you do will start to feel comfortable for your body. You need to really step up your routine if you hope to strengthen your muscles and increase your flexibility. With a few tips in mind you can make the most of your workout.
Stay Hydrated
Never start your workout without being properly hydrated. You also don't want to continue to exercise without having water nearby to drink when you need it. Staying hydrated throughout the process will help your muscles and joints remain as limber as possible. It will keep your body working and give you the energy needed to continue. It can also help prevent injury. You should notice a better workout when you have water available than if you tried to exercise without a sip.
Change Your Rep Tempo
Many people try to get through all their repetitions as quickly as possible. You lift your weights and lower your arms fast until you've made it through a whole set. Changing up your rep temp can be the change you need to make a difference. Lift your weights and hold them in place for a few seconds before lowering. Making this change can help to target a different area than what you're used to and make new gains.
Do Cardio and Strength Training
All strength training all the time might increase your muscle strength, but it might not burn as much fat as you need. Daily cardio can burn lots of fat but it won't give you muscle definition. You should do both cardio and strength training in one session to really pump up your results. Changing from one to the other, such as lifting weights for 10 reps and then running in place, before doing pull-ups can help you to achieve maximum results.
Try Something New
You never want your body to become comfortable doing the same routine day after day. Try something completely new so you can shake things up. It will help you to stay motivated as well. If you normally like to hit the gym, then try working out outdoors instead. Take a jog through the woods. Use a jump rope. Swing at a nearby playground. You have lots of fitness options to try so you can always be doing something new.
Your exercise routine needs a change up. Make sure you're making the most of the workouts you're doing by keeping some tips in mind. You need to be performing the right exercises if you want your body to be able to change for the better.
