3 Foods That You Should Nix From Your Diet for Good

By Genevieve Cunningham

Food is so good. Who doesn't love to grab a plate of their guilty pleasure, turn on Netflix, and binge to their heart's content? It sounds so appealing, right? Unfortunately, our diet is one of the most important parts of staying healthy. The better you eat, the healthier and more fit you're going to be. But what does that mean? Does it mean you can never indulge? Not necessarily, but there are definitely a few foods that you should nix from the menu. If you are ready to improve your diet, take a look at these three foods that you really should throw out and never buy again.

Donuts

Donuts are so, so bad for your diet. They are extremely high in both sugar and calories, and they bring absolutely zero benefit to your health. Of course, they're delicious, which makes the habit hard to break. If you need something sweet in the morning, opt for a piece of fruit with some granola. If you eat very many donuts, then this one change in your diet will make a big impact.

Chips

Everyone loves chips. They're crunchy and salty and satisfy a really common craving. But chips are unfortunately not good for your body. They're a calorie-ridden wasteland. They're greasy. They have too much salt. And they provide zero nutritional value. If you can cut back significantly on chips, you'll definitely be improving your diet in a really easy way.

Regular Sodas

You probably don't want to hear this, but you need to give up soda. If you can't give up all soda, then you should at least give up regular soda. Soda is bad for your gut, bad for your mind, bad for your skin, and bad for your teeth. It fills your body with wasted calories, and adds way too much sugar to your daily total. Since soda is on most people's menu, it might take some time to kick the habit, but stick with it. You may find weight loss, better focus, and less bloat as a result of giving it up.

Improving your diet can certainly be hard. Don't try to throw out all of your junk food at once. You'll get overwhelmed! Start with these three foods. Throw them out, break the habit, and then add more when you're ready. You may be surprised at how big of an impact a healthy diet can make in changing your body and your life for the better.
