Meet The Doctors
Dr. Susie Branch became part of The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2021 she became a franchise owner to serve residents in the Shreveport area with the work she finds so rewarding.
“The best thing about being in the chiropractic field is providing adjustments for patients and seeing the benefit they receive,” she says. “I love studying the multiple ways the body heals itself with chiropractic care.”
Raised on a dairy farm in northeast Louisiana, Dr. Branch credits chiropractic with keeping her family healthy enough to keep the farm churning. She has worked previously in Winnfield and Monroe.
A former dental hygienist of 28 years who got her degree at University of Louisiana Monroe, Dr. Branch earned her doctorate of chiropractic from Parker University in Dallas.
“As long as I can remember, I wanted to study to become a doctor of chiropractic,” she says. “The reason I studied to be a dental hygienist was because I was a mom when I finally had the opportunity to go to college, but there were no chiropractic colleges nearby, so I had a few years’ detour to provide the means for my children to attend college. Making sure that my children had college educations was my No. 1 goal. After they all graduated, I finally had the chance to pursue my dream.”
She enjoys looking after her saltwater aquarium, but she also enjoys reading, painting, crafts, and remodeling her house.
One of her best professional experiences was working at the Veterans Hospital in Dallas while attending Parker. “It was really rewarding,” she says.
In Case You Didn’t Know
Dr. Branch says that her ideal dinner party would include Dwayne Johnson, Reese Witherspoon, Tom Hanks, and Nicole Kidman: “They have the ability to portray their characters so well.”
One of the coolest things about Dr. Branch is her wide array of experience. “My whole life has been submersed in work: dairy farm, dirt farmer, elementary school cafeteria manager, owner of three small businesses, usually working three jobs at one time just to get by,” she says. “All this has created a really good work ethic.”
One of the most outstanding ways she has proven herself is through education. “I was told by our high school counselor I was not smart enough to attend college,” she says. “Now I have two college degrees. You see, you never know what people are capable of doing.”
Her favorite snacks are fruits and nuts.
Dr. Wesson, a Parker University graduate from Dallas, TX, had the distinct honor of service as class President and earned the Parker Legacy Award in April 2018 for his exceptional leadership, patient care, and collegial respect. He is Board Certified and has specialized training in various chiropractic techniques, including Orthospinology, Diversified, Thompson, SOT, Activator, and extremity taping and adjusting, as well as certification in the Webster technique through the ICPA. A Huntsville native and alumnus of Huntsville High School and Auburn University, Dr. Wesson is a devoted husband to Rachel and a dedicated father to Haddie Mac. In his leisure time, he enjoys water activities with his family, having been a member of the Auburn University Water Ski Team and serving as President of the Water Ski Club. Dr. Wesson's transition to chiropractic stemmed from his experience as an orthopedic device sales representative, where he assisted in surgery for over five years. Inspired by the positive impact of chiropractic care on his family, he is committed to addressing the root causes of healthcare issues. Alongside his wife, Rachel, Dr. Wesson owns The Joint Whitesburg, prioritizing exceptional patient care and fostering a supportive team environment. Under their leadership, the clinic has experienced significant growth, attributing their success to their dedicated team's unwavering commitment to prioritizing patient well-being.
