4 Ways to Make Your Water More Delicious

By Genevieve Cunningham

Water. We all know that it’s good for us. We know we’re supposed to drink more. We know that water is a necessary part of a healthy diet. But sometimes … it’s so hard to drink! Water has zero flavor. It’s not as fun as drinking a soda or a fancy coffee. It’s not as tasty as fruit juice. So how are we supposed to choose this option over all of the other tasty choices? You can start by making your water taste better! If you need a little flavor in your water so that you can drink more, take a look at these easy ways to add some personality.

A Powder

Let’s get to the easiest and most potent option first. If you need some flavor, there are plenty of powder additives that can be put in your drink. You open the container, pour it in, and shake or stir. Simple. Just make sure that you’re adding a powder that is aspartame-free, sugar-free, and made for the general health and wellness industry.

Fruit

Fruit makes an excellent addition to water. It doesn’t drastically change the flavor, but gives it just enough change to make it more palatable. Citrus fruit is always a good choice for this purpose. Lemons, limes, oranges, and kiwi can give your water a nice burst of flavor. You can also buy a diffuser, which is a small device that goes in the middle of your cup. You fill it with fruit, put it in the water, and the juice comes out slowly as you sip.

Make It Ice Cold

Many, many people swear that ice cold water tastes better than room temperature. If you’re trying your water at room temperature, fill up a cup with ice and see if that makes a difference. Some people even give it a double whammy by putting bits of fruit in the ice. Either way, cold water often has a better flavor than warm … so freeze it and give it a try.

Get Some Bubbly

As much as we wish this meant to break out the champagne, it doesn’t. Some people need a little extra in their water. Try buying carbonated water (found in any grocery store), or you could buy a seltzer that dissolves in the water and creates a bit of fizz. If you don’t mind the taste of water, but need something that make it more exciting, this might be the perfect option.

Water is the perfect and most important thing that you can put into your body. If you’re not getting enough, you’re ruining your health! Use these tips to add a little flavor and make water the most delicious option in your house.
