Fight Aging: Tips From the Experts

By Virginia Laird

Aging is a process which no one can escape. Still, there are plenty who try to fight it. For many, it is a battle worth fighting. While some signs of aging may be entirely impossible to avoid, there is research to suggest that small and simple measures can help combat these from taking over your skin too soon. In an effort to keep your skin young and beautiful, skincare experts admit there are a few things you can do to prevent premature aging. These tips include:

  • Drink plenty of water
  • Wear sunscreen when you head outdoors
  • Always practice good hygiene

Drink Plenty of Water

Skincare experts admit that those who have a desire to maintain beautiful and youthful skin should make drinking plenty of water a top priority. Keeping the skin properly hydrated helps prevent premature wrinkling. It is advised that you should consume at least half of your body weight in ounces each day. For those who prefer soda and juice, consuming enough water can be quite an undertaking. If you are one who finds water difficult to consume, it may be wise to begin making your way through the variety of flavored waters available until you find one that meets your taste bud needs. Start today making sure you are consuming plenty of water.

Wear Sunscreen When You Head Outdoors

For years, skincare experts have advised that those who want to protect their skin from the damage of the sun should always wear sunscreen. This is the first line of defense from premature wrinkling, skin spots, and much more. This is a practice which should begin as a child. Dermatologists advise that wearing sunscreen with at least 15 SPF (but you should probably use higher) can help protect the skin and keep it beautiful. Start applying sunscreen to your skin before you head outdoors and teach your children to do the same.

Always Practice Good Hygiene

Good hygiene is part of keeping your skin beautiful. While you may have plenty of evenings when you are too exhausted to wash your face. However, it is imperative to wash your face morning and night to help prevent blemishes and premature aging, among other things. Another practice of hygiene necessary to promote healthy skin is exfoliation. This helps remove dead skin cells from the surface of your body which can otherwise build up and cause drab and dry looking skin. Start tonight making sure you use good hygiene to protect your skin.

Today is the day that you need to begin properly caring for your skin.
