Beets May Make a Great Healthy Drink

By Tom Herrin

When most of us think about drinks, we think of something that refreshes us.  While most drinks do this, at least to some extent, at other times we may actually look for something else.  Water is always a great drink, but there are times in which any of us become a little burned out drinking it with no change.  If we want something healthy, we may do quite a bit of searching to find just the right one.  The good thing is that there are more varieties of healthy drinks available if we can just identify the best one for us.

Try Beet Juice

Although many of us may have never heard of this one as a drink before, beet juice has gotten a lot of publicity in recent times.  They are believed to help the immune system.  They also may be able to keep us feeling full longer.  They may be good for the skin and hair as well as help to prevent inflammation.  These are just for a starter.  Some beet products are advertised as virtual miracle supplements.  There is enough reliable information on them to make beets worth looking into.

Lemon Water Is an Old Standard

It most likely that we all have had water served with a slice of lemon in a restaurant.  It used to be the basic drink.  At the time, we may not have realized just how good this is.  Lemon has Vitamin C which we all need.  It is also considered to be a good diuretic by many.  Some feel it has the ability to help purify our bodies in some way.

Flavor and Health May Go Together

Even if we choose to remain basic, we may be able to have just water with some kind of added flavor.  There are plenty available, whether we choose to make them at home or order them from a restaurant.  Many restaurants, especially fast food places, offer large varieties of flavors.  This flavored water is usually my choice for healthy drinks anytime I want to do a reset.  Almost any of the true fruits are good, but chocolate or vanilla aren't bad or too unhealthy.  My personal favorite is to add lime and strawberry to water for a light tasty drink.  Try to make your own and have fun with it.
