Avoiding Back Pain No Matter Where You're At
By Brandi Goodman
Whether you're at home, at work, at the store, in the car, or anywhere else for that matter, back pain is bound to come up. That's especially true if you're sitting with bad posture, hunching over, or following other unhealthy practices. With some chiropractic tips in mind, you can avoid back pain no matter where you're at and experience a far better time.
At Home
The biggest thing to remember when you're at home is to avoid slouching. Sitting on the couch, slouched over to the side, will only leave you with a sore lower back and stiff joints that make it difficult to get up from that position. It's always important to remember your posture and sit or stand up straight so you can keep your body in the best shape.
At Work
The job you do will make avoiding back pain a little different from what the next person needs to try. If you sit at a desk all day, you'll need to get up and stretch often to avoid a stiff back. If you're standing all day, you'll need to sit for breaks when you can and do your best to shift your position every so often so you aren't becoming stiff and sore.
At the Store
Shopping at the store shouldn't leave you with an aching back. If it does, you may first want to take a look at the shoes you're wearing. Never wear heels or flats while you're walking for considerable time. If you have to go up and down the store aisles, filling your cart with foods for the week, then you'll need a sturdy pair of shoes that will keep your body going throughout the process.
In the Car
Properly position your seat so you aren't too close to -- nor too far from -- the steering wheel. You don't want your distance from the wheel to be why your back, arms, or any other part of you is hurting. You also need to avoid having anything in your back pocket. Sitting unevenly can cause tremendous stress on your lower back.
No matter where you are, back pain is possible. Proper posture, stretching as often as possible, drinking plenty of water, and changing your position regularly can all help the situation you're in, no matter the scenery. Do what you can to keep back pain at bay so you can about your day with ease. If you're still feeling sore, a trip to The Joint Chiropractic is in order to see if an underlying problem is causing you discomfort.
