Combine Core Exercises and Chiropractic
By Brandi Goodman
When your abdominal muscles are weak, you're more likely to experience pain and illness. You need a strong core and body overall if you hope to maintain your well-being. With core exercises and chiropractic combined, you can achieve your goal.
Try a Few Core Exercises
Start out with a few basic core exercises to help prepare your body. A bridge is a great option because it's easy for most people to do. Lay on your back with your knees bent and your feet touching the floor. Raise your hips off the ground and hold the position for a few seconds. This strengthens your abdominal muscles, lower back, and hips all at once. It's great for providing stability and balance to your life.
A plank is another terrific choice. Just be sure you're starting out by holding the position for only a few seconds. It will be difficult to do much more than that the first time you try. As you get used to the move, and develop a stronger core, you'll be able to hold the position for much longer.
Don't Try the Traditional Choices
The traditional options that people often touted as a great core workout should actually be left off the list. Sit-ups and crunches, for example, are not actually ideal for an abdominal workout. It's more harmful to your back than you might realize. If you give these options a try and realize your lower back is hurting because of it, stop the exercise immediately. You don't want to end up in serious pain because you pushed your body too far.
Get Chiropractic
Joint restrictions can interfere with your posture. If you find yourself slouching, you aren't engaging your core and keeping your body upright as intended. This can lead to a weakened core in itself. Get chiropractic to correct any subluxations and help your posture improve. Your core will have the chance to develop as intended because of it.
Not to mention, your ability to exercise in general will be improved. A restriction will limit you. Having it corrected will help ensure you can work out to the best of your ability. You can develop a stronger core in no time.
