Put More Fun in Exercise

One of the general rules for health is that each of us should get some kind of exercise on a regular basis.  It helps to keep our hearts strong and our weight under control.  It also helps us to maintain flexibility and possibly avoid injuries.  One of the biggest problems that many of us have is that we become tired of repetitive activity.  It is one of those things that you tend to really enjoy or really dislike.   Some people like the structure of routine exercise.  Others like variety.  For them, there are plenty of ways to get exercise and still have that variety. 

Do You Like Adventures?

For those who like to try things that are different, there are some good ones out there.  Rock climbing is something that is available in many more places than you may think.  Many parks have it and rent supplies needed to do it.  It can be a great adventure and is good for those who are learning.  It requires some planning and conditioning, but it is fun once you get started.  One thing for sure is that you won't be likely to become bored.

How About Walking with a Group?

There are lots of group activities around.  As a matter of fact, it seems like there is a group for  everything.  Many of them meet in some community location such as a park or nature trail.  Joining a group for something such as power walking can be another opportunity for socializing while exercising.  Whether it is to walk some distance such as miles, or walking for some kind of time measured by minutes, it can help to improve our condition.  Some of these groups add a dimension such as walking with a pet or companion.

Are You Too Old to Jump Rope?

Jumping rope may be something you think is just for kids, but a lot of people do it as exercise.  There have long been fundraisers in schools to encourage students to use jump ropes to go for extended lengths of time.  It is something we can do in our homes or outdoors.  We may do it as part of personal challenges or do so as we listen to music.  It can be great for coordination as well as endurance.  Some even do it while jogging.  If you can't pull yourself away from the television, you can do it while watching.
