Exercising as You Work May Make You More Productive
By Tom Herrin
A of people try to plan an exercise program for after they get home from work. Some also do this in the early mornings before work. It is not so important when they do it but doing something is critical. Most people fail to get much exercise as they do their jobs largely due to the fact that so many work in office jobs. This means sitting for long hours each day, often staring at a computer screen or some similar object. This sitting can actually leave health lacking for some real activity. It is possible to exercise as they sit without neglecting their responsibilities.
It May Be Possible to Improve Hand Strength
Most people do very little to strengthen their hands. A simple exercise for the hands is to make a fist and squeeze tightly. They don't have to have anything in their hands, just squeeze. Holding for about five seconds and releasing and spreading the fingers wide is one rep. Doing up to 10 reps with each hand can help to improve hand strength. It can be done in only a few minutes' time.
It May Be Possible to Improve the Core
Building the core is sometimes made to seem more difficult than it is. People seem to knock themselves out trying to make it better. A simple way to do this while sitting is to sit up straight with the feet slightly above the floor. Grabbing the edge of the desk, the chair is turned from side-to-side using only the core to do so. With each swivel being one rep, doing 10 to 15 can help to work the core sufficiently. It is easy and works the core in a way that does not require so much physical stress.
It May Put You in Charge of Your Own Health
Most of us would like to be in control of our own personal growth. When it comes to exercise, if we can develop a plan in which we can help do it at work, we are ahead of the game. Exercising while sitting can help to keep us alert as well as get some exercise that we won't have to do after work. It may make us more productive as a worker as well. Being fresher and healthier is always a benefit in any work situation. Play with it and see what you can do.
