Why You Should Consider Buying New Sneakers

By Genevieve Cunningham

When it comes to regular exercise, we take into consideration a lot of various aspects of getting fit and healthy. We think about joining the right gym and finding enough time. We think about which class would be best and whether we should take friends with us. But what about our clothes? Do you put much thought into your attire? While it probably doesn't matter which shirt you wear, another aspect of your outfit can really affect your workout. Which part? Your shoes! If you want a small way to improve your workout, take a look at why you should buy new shoes right away.

Comfort

If you're going to exercise regularly, foot comfort is important. You may not even notice how uncomfortable your feet get as your shoes wear out. And then suddenly, your feet really hurt after a good workout -- which might discourage you from going next time. But by replacing your shoes regularly, you can avoid the discomfort that comes from overuse. Instead, your feel can stay comfortable as you demand their time and attention throughout the duration of your workout.

Injury Protection

Anytime we have equipment that isn't up to standard, we run the risk of injury. This is certainly true for our shoes. When our shoes aren't providing adequate support, we have a higher risk of twisted ankles, sore joints, aching feet, and other common injuries. Protect your feet by keeping them in supportive, comfortable shoes every time you work out.

Motivation

There's no doubt that new stuff is motivating. New shoes, good clothes, new equipment. It makes us feel like we're on top of our game. It makes us feel more prepared. And this can be so motivating! It's easier to get up and go when we're feeling motivated. Easier to stick with the workouts until we finally see results. If you're not feeling much like working out, consider improving your wardrobe, and it may be just the boost you need to keep going.

New shoes aren't a luxury -- not when it comes to exercise. Supportive shoes are a necessary part of the exercise experience. Get some shoes that make your feet feel both comfortable and safe, and it may improve your workouts just enough to make a difference in your journey to better health.
