Chiropractic: The Better of the Two Paths

Usually, there are at least two paths to choose from with many things and situations in our lives. Right or wrong? Vanilla or chocolate? Beach or mountains? The same two paths can be seen with how we approach our healthcare as well … reactive or proactive? It seems like our society has become more reactive than proactive in regards to our general health and wellness. We have become accustomed to being able to receive that “quick fix” at a moment’s notice. There is a pharmacy on every street corner that offers a type of pill for every kind of pain you could think of. There are urgent cares open 24/7 for those who can’t wait until the morning to see their doctor. And if you stay up late enough, you could probably find an infomercial that offers express delivery on the latest and greatest medical breakthrough.

But is the “Quick Fix” the Right Path to Choose?

Maybe, if we didn’t have any say in how our bodies respond to the choices we make every day, but the state of our health isn’t decided like that. We do have a say and our actions can affect the way we feel on a daily basis. By understanding that our health is not permanent and that the choices we make will either lead us to good health or bad, perhaps we can turn from being a reactive society to one that is proactive that puts its health and well-being first.
