3 Benefits of Adding More Eggs to Your Diet

By Genevieve Cunningham

Eggs are delicious. There are so many ways to prepare them and recipes for any time of day -- be it breakfast, lunch, or dinner. For the most part, eggs are a crowd-pleaser. Unless you're vegan or allergic, most people enjoy this tasty food, which means they're also a good item to have on hand at all times. But is it possible that eggs are too good to be true? Should we actually be eating eggs? Or is this something we should give up in the name of health? If you enjoy eating eggs, take a look at these good reasons to continue with this food in your diet.

Eggs Provide Protein

Eggs are a great source of protein. Why do we need protein? Because it helps us lose weight and build muscle. It's an essential nutrient, and most people don't get enough. Eggs are a really simple way to increase your consumption. Add a few eggs to breakfast, throw them in a salad, or boil them for a snack. With just a few more in your regular diet, you may actually notice a difference in the way your body looks, feels, and functions.

Eggs Are Packed With Nutrients

Aside from protein, eggs are packed with a ton of other nutrients as well. With eggs, you'll get a dose of Vitamins A, B, and D, folate, phosphate, and calcium. All of these are essential to your health and the overall function of your body. If you want to create balance in your diet, don't be afraid to add eggs in order to get multiple nutrients knocked out in just one meal.

Eggs Raise Cholesterol

At first blush, this probably sounds like a bad thing, right? But there are actually two kinds of cholesterol - the good and the bad. We're supposed to keep our bad cholesterol down and our good cholesterol up. Confused yet? The good news is that eggs are a good way to improve your overall good cholesterol. It's true that you can't eat too many and you'll need to pair them with a healthy diet, but if you're in need of more good cholesterol points, ask your doctor whether eggs might be a good choice.

If you want to be healthy, eggs can be a good addition to your normal diet. They offer a lot of benefits, especially when eaten in moderation. And even better, they're so easy to add to your normal meals! Add a few eggs to your diet every week, and feel good about the direction of your health and wellness moving forward.
