Dr. Kristin Knowlton was born and raised right here in Corpus Christi. Growing up in a family of medical professionals she knew from a young age that she wanted to become a doctor. This lead her down a path of PreMed schooling across the state of Texas from Del Mar College, to Baylor University, to Texas A&M CC, culminating in a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology Degree and a Doctorate of Chiropractic Degree from Texas Chiropractic College in 2014.
Since graduation, Dr. Knowlton has spent many years adding to her “tool belt” of education all while building her chiropractic practice. She has received certifications as an AcroYoga Teacher, Traditional Yoga Teacher, Neuro Emotional Technique, Acupuncture, and Webster Technique. It is the certification of the Webster Technique that she is most proud of as she is one of two Chiropractors in a 100 mile radius of Corpus Christi to maintain this certification specific for adjusting the pregnant pelvis. Dr. Knowlton’s passion for pregnancy and pediatric care are central to her practice. Currently, she is in the middle of a postgraduate training through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, which provides extra and specific training for pregnancy and pediatric chiropractic care.
Outside of work Dr. Knowlton enjoys practicing yoga and running and she completed her first full Marathon in January of 2020. She also enjoys crafting fermented foods and drinks such as pickles, kimchi, kombucha, beer, and wine with her husband Sean Sutherland. Together they have two dogs, Amber age 14 and Porter age 3, and a cat named Grubb. Her “ideal” dinner party would not be a dinner party at all, but rather individual longwinded chats with Joseph Campbell, Jim Morison, and Ina May Gaskin.
