Healthy Drinks May Be More Than You Expected

If you thought you were doing everything you could to make yourself healthy and stay that way, you could be in for a surprise.  That is, there may be many more options to help you in your effort.  As we work out and get the right amount of rest, we have fought a large part of the battle.  To continue along the way in our efforts, eating well is always important.  What many of us may not realize is that drinking well can do a lot also.  Of course, we all know that we need to drink plenty of water, but we can go to another level if we so desire.  Finding great drinks may help to enhance our march to better health.

You May Have Given Little Thought to Some

Even though you may have heard of it, and possibly tasted it, pomegranate juice can pack a pretty good wallop.  Like so many other juices, it has plenty of vitamins.  It also is believed to be able to improve memory as shown in one study.  Another study indicated that it may help prevent bone loss.  Like so many other fruit juices, it has some good fiber.  Its antioxidants may help to keep your skin in good condition.  Another study showed it may help lower cholesterol and maintain good blood pressure.

Lemon Is a Longtime Favorite

For years, many of us have known about lemon water.  It is a simple drink that has lots of Vitamin C.  It has also been recognized for its ability to act as a diuretic.  Most restaurants offer it as a drink.  If you are watching calories, there is no risk here.  Most of us know as well about how effective lemon water is in quenching thirst.  Even when we drink lemonade with its sugar content, it can serve as a pretty healthy drink.

Make Your Own Healthy Drink

If you are so inclined, you can make your own drink by adding some kind of flavor to water.  You can do this at home or at a restaurant.  Many of them offer all kinds of flavors to add to drinks.  Anytime I am working hard to limit my other beverages, I will simply add flavor to water.  You may be surprised just what you can create.  One of my favorites is lime and strawberry added to water.  It is very light, and it has a great flavor.
