Why the Tiger King Needed a Chiropractor
By Brandi Goodman
The Tiger King, also known as Joe Exotic, worked with hundreds of large animals. He, along with any other zookeeper or farmer, spend hours each day performing job duties and keeping things managed. Joe and his team should have been seeing a chiropractor regularly to help themselves. Any other animal worker should as well.
To Reduce Tension From Stress
Running a zoo or farm is no easy feat. Making sure the employees are handling their jobs, checking on the animals, working with large animals, entertaining a crowd, paying bills, getting all the animals fed -- these were just a few of the Tiger King's responsibilities. It's a stressful job. If the Tiger King would've been seeing a chiropractor he may have had some of his tension, and therefore stress, reduced. Maybe he wouldn't have gotten so worked up over Carole Baskin all the time.
To Alleviate Pain
Working with large animals can sometimes lead to trouble. Joe was thrown around, knocked down, and worse by some of his big cats. If you've worked with animals, you might have experienced something similar. All of these falls can lead to a lot of pain. Working with a chiropractor can help to alleviate some of that pain and discomfort. Perhaps one fall made a joint go out of place, which led to a constant ache. A chiropractor can correct this subluxation.
To Prevent Injury
It can be easy to get injured working with animals. Getting regular chiropractic care can help to prevent it in some ways. Your joints can be strengthened and made more flexible through chiropractic. If Joe would've seen a chiropractor regularly, he may have been better able to remain on his feet when dealing with big cats. He could have potentially avoided some of the injuries he encountered.
To Get Time Away
The Tiger King mentioned several times in the Netflix documentary and throughout his own footage on social media that this is a full-time job. Owning and working at a zoo that's open every day of the year means he gets no time away. He always has to be on-site and available, making sure the animals are cared for. A trip to the chiropractor is not very long. Sometimes 15-30 minutes is all it takes for an adjustment. Regular trips like this would have given Joe just a little time away here and there for himself. He could have gotten an adjustment that alleviated his stress and pain and made him more stable to handle his zoo duties. Anyone who works with animals daily should see a chiropractor and utilize this time.
Any zookeeper or zoo owner should be seeing a chiropractor regularly. But not everyone is running a zoo, yet anyone who works with livestock is in the same boat as Joe Exotic. Working with large, sometimes terrifying animals, can be quite stressful -- but so can working with the cows that need to be milked every day. In Joe's case, add to the job of keeping crowds entertained and you're bound to feel tense and stressed. Visit The Joint Chiropractic for an assessment and adjustment to have a more flexible body to help you handle your big animals. The Tiger King should have.
