Chiropractic Therapy: It's the All-Natural Way to Go!
By Stephen R. Farris
When you experience pain, one of the first reactions is to reach into the medicine cabinet for an over-the-counter remedy, or use a pain reliever prescribed by your doctor. Unfortunately, these usually offer only temporary relief, sometimes masking the pain which could be leading to something more serious. Not only that, prescription medication and OTCs could eventually develop into addiction.
Instead of using prescription medication or OTCs, you might think more about more natural ways to relieve pain simply by using what nature has to offer and that has been used by many cultures for thousands of years.
Nature provides many plant-based herbs and spices that -- either by themselves, or combined with others -- can provide relief from joint and muscle pain, to neck, shoulder, arm, knee, ankle, feet, hip, and back pain. Here's a few examples to help get you started towards pain relief:
Willow Bark
Willow bark is a dry herb that is used to help relieve inflammation. It can help relieve pain in your lower back, headaches, and many other conditions. Willow bark can be purchased as an herb or in the form of a supplement. However, willow bark should be used for adults and not for children.
Turmeric
You may be familiar with curry, but did you know that turmeric helps give curry its yellow complexion and flavor? Indeed it does. Not only that, turmeric is known to be helpful in relieving certain medical conditions such as:
- Indigestion
- Ulcers
- Psoriasis
- Upset stomach

- Osteoarthritis
Turmeric is available as a supplement, but many people choose to use it in cooking as a way to get its health benefits.
Cloves
Cloves are mainly used for certain food dishes, including rice, meats, and different desserts. It's another one of those spices that has certain health benefits. For instance, cloves can be used to treat an upset stomach, colds, headaches, tooth aches, or even flare-ups from arthritis. You can purchase whole cloves from your grocer's spice aisle, or as a supplement from the vitamin aisle.
