Stop the Excuses and Live Healthily
By Donna Stark
Have you been meaning to start working out, but you just can't seem to find the time? Do you want to start eating healthier, but continue to get distracted with those fabulous spring barbecues? Maybe you've been wanting to get more sleep during the week, but that new mini-series looks too good to skip, and besides, you can catch up on sleep later, right? It's certainly easy to come up with excuses, and unfortunately, there always seems to be a new one right around the corner. Excuses will knock your best intentions off course, but worst of all, the longer you let them make the important decisions in your life, the less healthy you may become.
Stop the Excuses!
Stop! Stop putting your health and fitness goals on hold just because you want to have some drinks and eat party food over the weekend. And stop choosing your television over your daily exercise. There's always an excuse to maintain your bad habits, but if your health and wellness are important to you, you will figure out a way to stop. Need a little push to do it? Take a look at the following reasons.
- Be an inspiration - Your children look up to you, your friends are encouraged by you ... living healthily is not only good for you, but it's also good for those around you! Once your loved ones start to see the change in your attitude, appearance, and health, they may want to join the club!
- Fight illness and disease - Maintaining a healthy lifestyle every day helps to keep the doctor away. By consuming a nutritious diet, exercising, and getting plenty of sleep, the risk of heart disease, diabetes, and even certain cancers can be reduced!
- Improve your future quality of life - When you plan for the future, do you think of things like where the next family vacation spot will be or how much money you will have in the bank? Do you even wonder about the state of your health 10, 20, 30 years down the road? Well, it's time to take a look at those years heading toward you and try to understand why it is so vitally important that you start living a healthy lifestyle today.
- Look and feel better - Trying to shed those unwanted pounds? Want to feel energized and more rested every day? A healthy lifestyle can impact how you look and feel significantly, so start today and establish those better habits!
The benefits of living a healthy lifestyle can be immediate and very impactful to your future, but you have to start today! Don't let another excuse choose the fate of your future! Take back that power and decide for yourself that a healthy lifestyle is the way to go. You got this!
