Health Foods That Should Be on Everyone's Menu
By Brandi Goodman
Everyone's menu should consist of a number of healthy foods that are beneficial for the body. Eating processed foods and junk daily can lead to joint pain, stomach aches, illness, and even cancer. You want your daily diet to consist of health foods that contain vitamins and nutrients that will combat toxins and keep illnesses at bay.
Almonds
Almonds are one of the best nut sources you can eat. They provide a hefty dose of Vitamin E which acts as an antioxidant. They also offer fiber, protein, and magnesium. If you're looking to lose weight or lower your cholesterol levels then a handful of almonds should be a daily snack.
Apples
There's a reason there's a saying about apples. Not many unexpected visits to the doctor are usually necessary when you have a diet rich with apples. The Vitamin C content is very high and offers antioxidant powers to keep the immune system working well.
Berries
Berries contain antioxidants. If you hope to ward off cancer and illness, then berries should be on your menu. Blueberries are ideal for reducing DNA damage. This can help to protect against the effects of aging and keep the brain healthy. Strawberries work well for controlling blood sugar and boosting heart health.
Chicken
Lots of protein is found in chicken. It's a lean meat that should be on the menu, just without the fried skin. Bake your chicken and add some spices to enhance its flavor and you'll get all the benefits this meat has to offer. Turkey is another healthy alternative.
Eggs
Many people believe they need to avoid eggs due to the cholesterol content. This isn't exactly true. You might want to skip the yolk from time to time and just eat the egg whites, but either way, eggs are an excellent source of nutrition. They pack a lot of protein and can be eaten in many different ways.
Garlic
Fresh garlic added to your food can help your health tremendously. It has properties that can boost your immune system and prevent illness. If you need to lower blood pressure or get better blood flow, then garlic is also ideal to use. It reduces conditions caused by an improper blood system or malfunctioning heart.
Add these foods to your menu and watch your health improve. Vitamins and nutrients can boost eyesight, decrease joint pain, prevent sickness, and much more. Pair your healthy eating with chiropractic care and you'll have an even better chance of fighting infection and keeping your bones and your body strong.
