Loving the Fall Season Almost as Much as Summer
By Donna Stark
Change can be hard to manage, and if you are a summer person, the transition to colder months can be pretty tough to handle. Replacing those sunny days by the pool with sweaters and scarves, and those perfect nights outside with your sofa and a blanket isn't exactly what you would call fun, but what else can you do? Well, you may feel better knowing that you are not alone. Many people experience the same sense of loss as you are, but instead of focusing on what they don't have, they are looking forward to what they can enjoy. Here are some tips on how you can do the same.
Layer Up
The weather may not be appropriate anymore for those laid-back summer outfits, but that doesn't mean you still can't have fun with the cooler temperatures and your fall clothes. Throw on your favorite layers and head outdoors for all the seasonal activity you can fit into your schedule. Whether you head to a Friday night football game, a local farmers market, or the pumpkin patch down the street, you are sure to have lots of fun!
Check Out the Colors
One of the best things to come out of the fall season is the change in colors on the trees, and if there is anything to look forward to, it's that! Hues of orange, green, red, and gold ... you have to see it to believe it and you can do so by driving around town or hiking through the mountains.
Start Decorating
Apart from Independence Day, there isn't too much to decorate for over the summer. However, the fall season is full of opportunities! If you have a knack for decorating with themes, this is your time! You can go classy with traditional fall decor, spooky with Halloween items, or primitive with Thanksgiving and turkeys. And who knows? Your home could become the favorite of the neighborhood!
Try New Recipes
Fall is the start of decadent and hearty meals so get your kitchen ready and hone your cooking skills! Pick up some seasonal items at the farmers market and incorporate them into your weekly dinners. Try new recipes and experiment with flavors. You simply can't go wrong no matter what you try with the fall harvest because the flavors are too extraordinary!
Looking Forward to Fall
It's time to stop grieving over summer and to start appreciating what fall has to offer. There is so much to look forward to! You just have to give it a chance. But be careful! It may end up being a favorite time of the year for you after all!
