Fitness on Valentine's Day: 3 Possibilities
By Brandi Goodman
Valentine's Day is typically intended for chocolate gift boxes and romantic dinners. Although it's fine to indulge once in a while the calories consumed on holidays such as this one are really too much. Try something different and add fitness to your Valentine's Day plans instead. It will help you to burn off any extra calories you do end up consuming. Plus, a fitness date can be just what a couple needs to bring them closer.
Take a Tandem Bike Ride
Sure, each of you could ride your own bike and you may have just as good of a time. A tandem bike gives you the opportunity to work together though. It's one bike with two seats that allow you and your partner to pedal together and feel in sync. You can either purchase one to use whenever you like or rent one from a bike shop that has it available. Check with Austin Bike Tours & Rentals to see if they have what you need.
Go Rock Climbing
Rock climbing can seem like a daunting task, but having your partner there with you can make it even more worthwhile. Beginners should start out at a gym where an indoor climbing wall is available. Try North Austin Rock Gym. If you've climbed before, then take your date to the next level by actually getting out in nature. It can be exciting to watch your date attempt to climb such a large mountain, and have you a bit worried for their well-being as well which can really let you see how much you care.
Play Laser Tag
Feel like a kid again as you play a round of laser tag with your love. It will provide some friendly competition and allow the two of you to have some fun. Paintball would evoke a similar feeling. You can check out Monster Mini Golf and Laser Tag in Round Rock or try Main Event in Austin roughly 20 minutes away from town. Paintball options include Outlaw Paintball in Pflugerville or Xtreme Paintball in Manor.
Enjoy your Valentine's Day with fitness in the mix. You don't want to do the same old thing year after year. Add fitness to your date plans and grow closer as a couple. A fitness date gives you and your partner the opportunity to do something fun and adventurous together that you may not otherwise get to in your daily life. It may just spark a new tradition.
