Play a Tune for Your Health
By Tom Herrin
Everything people believe about improving their health is often centered around diet or exercise. Those are usually the best places to start. It is pretty common knowledge that both are critically important factors. Doing them well will normally help to improve and protect health. Once those are in place, people may choose to look for other ways to enhance or make changes in their health. A great way to make a difference without having to expend much energy or deprive oneself of something more is to try listening to music. One type that has shown considerable possibilities is jazz. People have used it for a variety of things that support better health.
It May Provide Pain Relief
Dealing with pain is a constant battle for many people. One of most common forms of pain is headaches. While there are obviously a variety of causes, remedies may vary as well. Studies have shown that listening to jazz may reduce pain and have a positive effect on headaches, including migraines. It is known to be able to lessen the duration and the intensity of the headache. Those who experience frequent headaches may find this a worthwhile method to try for relief.
It May Help Blood Pressure
Managing blood pressure is a significant challenge for lots of individuals. There a several contributing factors to high blood pressure. Understanding the numbers, and what they mean, may not be necessary for everyone but finding good solutions is. Studies have shown that music and laughter can lower blood pressure. They do this by causing blood vessels to expand up to 30 percent. A three-month study showed good progress by those who used music and laughter as compared to those who did not.
It May Improve Immunity
Searching for cures for diseases has been a longtime pursuit of man and science. What is often better is finding ways to boost immunity and help prevent problems to begin with. Immunoglobulin A is something that is found in the mucous linings of the body. It serves as an antibody that protects against viruses and bacteria. Listening to jazz for 30 minutes can boost the levels of this and continue for 30 minutes after the music stops. It may not be a cure, but for simply listening to music, it is pretty painless way of fighting some disease. I enjoy listening to it throughout the day and night. It may surprise you with how it may help.
