Taking Care of the Skin Is for Everyone

By Tom Herrin

For many years, some of us probably thought that skin care was for women, not men.  As such, a lot of us tended to ignore our skin unless we had some kind of a problem.  By that time, it may have been too late.  Our skin is irreplaceable.  While it can do a good job of shedding the old and growing new, it can also suffer from abuse from the elements and neglect.  Taking good care of our skin is like anything else, it needs attention.  With all of the knowledge and resources available to us today, there is little reason for us to let it go without making an attempt to take better care of it.

Exfoliate Like You Mean It

Vocabulary is one of those things that many of us ignore.  We hear terms, but we may not give them a second thought until we are directly confronted with a situation involving them.  I had heard the term exfoliate for many years, but I really had no idea what it was.  One day a person promoting a product approached me with an opportunity to see for myself how it worked.  I was amazed at how much difference it made.  Rubbing this product through my hands did a great job of removing dead and dry skin I didn't even realize I had.  It left my hands softer than I had ever remembered them being.

Be Aware of Foods

Eating well is always important.  Knowing what foods cause problems for you individually may have a significant impact on your health overall.  The skin is often irritated by some foods.  While each of us may have some individual reactions, many of us are known to have unfavorable reactions to some sugars as well as fats.  It is important for us to keep a note of those foods that cause issues with our skin and avoid them.

Good Sleep Is a Big Deal

While most of us know that we need to get a good amount of sleep, many of us still try to trade sleep for production.  We know we need to get something done and take the time to do it away from our sleep.  Our bodies need sleep to make repairs.  This applies to our skin as well.  Getting seven to eight hours of sleep per night may make quite a difference in our skin and appearance.
