Make Your Drinks Count for Health as Well
By Tom Herrin
Most of us want to be as efficient as possible when it comes to the use of our time and effort. Searching for the healthiest food and beverages is one of those things that we may ultimately do as we attempt to live as healthy as possible. Many of us tend to just go with water once we have eliminated a lot of the other drinks. Water is great and necessary for our bodies to work well, but there are times in which any of us can grow a little tired of the routine of drinking water without having something with a little more flavor every once in a while.
There Are Some Power Drinks
One of the latest things seems to be beets. They have been advertised as something with almost a super power. As a juice, they may be a pretty good drink. They are believed to help reduce inflammation. They also may be good for skin. They may do more for the digestive system than many other natural foods, and they are thought to boost energy. Some of these are sold as packaged super foods or drinks. For those who are serious about doing the most for health, beet juice may be the right drink.
How About Cranberry Juice?
Cranberry juice is one of those that has a great reputation for providing good health. For many years, individuals with urinary tract problems have been drinking cranberry juice to help keep down infections. Some of our family members have used it with good results. It has very little sugar, for a fruit, and seems to have the ability to help lower blood sugar. It is thought to be able to support the growth of good bacteria in the gut and generally improve digestion. I always enjoy eating the fruits, and the juices come in all kinds of ways mixed with other flavor.
Adding Flavors to Water Is Simple
Anytime I feel the need to have healthier drinks as well as some flavor, I will begin drinking water with added flavors. Many restaurants have large selections of flavors that may be added to water. I enjoy trying different combinations. They are refreshing and light. I don't have to worry about calories. My personal favorite is lime and strawberry. It tastes like a very light limeade. I really enjoy it.
