3 Exercises to Tone Your Legs
By Virginia Laird
Toning the legs can prove to be one of the most challenging areas of the body to shape up. If you struggle with this, you are not alone. Millions across the nation hit the gym routinely in search of the answer to this very issue. Although most work diligently to find balance in this area of the leg, many give up the battle and settle when the exercise becomes too daunting. Personal trainers have offered a list of exercises that can help whip the legs into shape with just a little determination and drive. Some of these include:
- Add squats to your daily routine
- Lunges are great for toning the legs
- Jumping rope is great for the calves
Add Squats to Your Daily Routine
Squats are a simple exercise which anyone at any fitness level can do. Research suggests adding a few squats to your daily routine can help tone and sculpt the legs. While you may be dreading this advice, fitness experts suggest there is no need to let the idea of daily squats get the best of you. It is recommended that you add a simple 10 squats to each day. Once this becomes routine, you can then begin to increase the number by five daily. It may take time, but you will see progress and love the results.
Lunges Are Great for Toning the Legs
Lunges are no one's friend. However, this exercise is proven to be one of the very best exercises to do to improve the tone of the entire leg. If you find lunges boring, there are a host of variations of the exercise which can help keep things exciting and fun. Keep in mind that it is best to keep your lunges simple as you begin this journey and add as you go.
Jumping Rope is Great for the Calves
Like me, you probably really enjoyed jumping rope as a child. There is no need that just because you are an adult you should stop this exercise. Jumping rope can be a great exercise for the entire body. Not only does it tone the legs, it also helps improve heart health and build stamina. If you are ready to add this exercise to your daily routine but do not have a jump rope, this is not an issue. One of the great things about this exercise is that it can be done without a jump rope. Adding just a minute of this exercise to your daily routine can help shape up your legs in no time at all.
With these exercises you are now ready to begin shaping your legs into the beautiful stems you want them to be. Keep in mind that it can be a struggle, and you will be sore at times. However, the end result is well worth it. Good luck!
