3 Tips for Making Time for Your Health
By Genevieve Cunningham
It seems as though we're all running short on time. No matter what we need to get done, there just aren't enough hours in the day to make it happen. We have to work or we need sleep or we have to run a million errands. And because of this busy lifestyle that we lead, we often forget to take care of ourselves. We don't make time for one of the most important aspects of our life: our own health. But it's time! It's time to set your priorities and make time for your own well-being. If you have trouble making time for your own health, take a look at these tips to help you do it.
Stick to a Schedule
Some people are schedule oriented. The only way to get anything done is to schedule it. And if this is you, then you'll simply have to schedule your workouts. Put it on your calendar and create a reminder. When you do this, it makes it seem more important. It makes it feel more like work or a meeting -- which is what some people need to actually complete it on a regular basis.
Multi-Task
If you really are short on time, maybe it's time to multitask. Maybe you need a treadmill that sits in front of the TV. Maybe you need to put your study notes on audio and study while you walk. Maybe you need to do yoga on your lunch break. You absolutely have to make time for your own health -- and if that means doing it at the same time as another task, then so be it.
Get Some New Friends
If you have friends that don't encourage healthy living, it might be time to make new ones. You don't have to drop your old ones, but you might need friends who will walk with you or go to the gym with you. You might need friends who will encourage you to live healthier. Carve out some time for a workout with these new friends, and it'll be easier to put yourself first more often.
In today's world, there's no excuse for ignoring your own needs. There are so many resources to help you take care of your own health and wellness. Use these tips to create time and space for yourself, and your health will be moving in a more positive direction before you know it.
