A Healthier Life in the New Year

By Virginia Laird

There are many who plan to live a healthier life in 2019. However, some will struggle to understand exactly how to achieve it. Health and wellness experts have offered several suggestions as to how to live a more healthy life in the new year. Some of their tips include:

  • Commit to one year of yoga
  • Plan to eat one salad each day
  • Setting goals is the best way to make change

Commit to One Year of Yoga

When trying to find a goal which can promote overall health and wellness, committing to a year of yoga may be what you need. Yoga is known to improve flexibility, mobility, and mental clarity. Health and wellness experts suggest that yoga can promote weight loss and muscle strength. It is suggested that a year commitment to yoga should include the workout at least three times each week. Check your local gym from class, or a streaming device for available workouts to stream to get started on this New Year's goal right away.

Plan to Eat One Salad Each Day

Health and wellness experts suggest that adding one salad to your diet each day can help encourage healthy food choices, as well as promote good overall health. Research suggests that exchanging one meal for a salad can reduce the calories you consume and increase vitamins and minerals in your diet that are necessary. For those looking to shed a few pounds, making one salad a day part of your diet can help jump-start your weight loss.

Setting Goals is the Best Way to Make Change

Research suggests that setting goals is one of the best ways to promote change. This is true in business, health, and life in general. For those who are looking to improve or change in any facet of life, finding a goal that you can achieve (or at least strive to) is pertinent. Many life coaches advise that upon setting a goal, it is necessary to break it down into the steps necessary to make it happen. Having both the long-term goal and the short-term steps can increase your chances of success. Success is not an accident, it takes hard work and determination. Now get out there and make it happen.

There has never been a better time to put your health first. Good luck and may you meet every goal you set for yourself this year!
