Slow Dementia, Diabetes, and Anemia with One Meal

By Tom Herrin

Meals planned right can play a big part in protecting health.  Not only are there general concerns about fats and carbs, but many other things that can either add to something or slow down something else may factor in. It doesn't take a lot of expertise to put together a meal that can be a plus for health.  The old concept of three square meals may not be such a sound standard today.  What is still critical to improving health is eating a good breakfast.  What may have changed quite a bit is the contents of that breakfast.  While it was once consisted of bacon, eggs, and biscuits or toast, it now may be changed to something that is much more geared toward making the body work at its best.  It is more of an art than it was in the past.

It May Help with Brain Function

The brain is much like any other part of the body.  It requires proper nutrition in order to do what it's designed to do.  Having the right foods here can be critical.  When foods containing potassium, selenium, and magnesium are served at breakfast, the brain may be more properly nourished.

It May Help Manage Diabetes

One of the worst things a person who has a tendency to develop type 2 diabetes can do is go for long periods between meals.  This type of starvation can have serious results.  It can fool the body into thinking that it is starving followed by the person overeating excessively.  This creates some instability within the body as those sugar highs and lows can cause stress.  Eating a breakfast containing whole grains and low fat dairy products each day can be great way to start each day.

It May Help Prevent Anemia

Many people have problems with anemia.  It is especially common among females due to body changes, but males may experience it as well.  Eating a breakfast with fresh fruits can generally supply many of the nutrients needed.  A rich supply of vitamins is a good way to supply the things needed for the body to function well. It may head off problems such as iron deficiency. For your health's sake, plan a breakfast that can work for your as an individual.  Make it part of your daily routine. You may notice a difference in no time.
