Keeping Those Pounds Off!
By Donna Stark
If you have recently lost weight, you know how rewarding it was to watch those pounds drop away, but at the same time, you haven't forgotten how challenging the process was, no matter how happy you are with the outcome. And there is no way you ever want to go through that again, is there? That's why it is just as important to maintain healthy habits after your weight loss as it was to establish them in the first place. Here are some easy tips to follow that will help keep those extra pounds far away from your body.
Watch What You Drink
There is nothing more pointless than to gain weight simply by drinking too many calories during the day. Those fancy coffee beverages, sugary smoothies, and happy-hour cocktails aren't worth the extra work you will have to put in to eliminate the excess calories you just consumed by drinking them. Instead of placing your weight (and overall health) at risk, why don't you choose healthier options, such as water, plain coffee, tea, and flavored seltzers?
Stand Your Ground
Just because your favorite coworker brings cupcakes to work every Friday afternoon doesn't mean you need to partake in their consumption! Stand your ground and start feeling more comfortable with telling people "No." Know when and what types of food to accept, and if you do indulge (which is perfectly OK), do so in moderation.
Use Technology for Help
If your days are busier than ever, it can be difficult to monitor the number of calories and fat you consume, so use technology to your advantage. Download an app that will track the intake of your food and help you know exactly what you are putting in your body. It's a lot easier to maintain your weight when you have help like this.
Get Your Rest
Have you ever made a bad decision due to lack of sleep? If so, it may be easy for you to see how sleep deprivation can have serious consequences on your diet. When you are tired, you may feel less inclined to cook healthy meals and more inclined to make poor eating choices. To keep those extra pounds off and to maintain your improved state of health, make sure you are prioritizing your sleep!
Reaching the Peak
You have already reached your goals so don't allow anything to push you backward. Stay on top of your achievements with healthy habits and live your life to its fullest! You deserve it after all that hard work!
