Here are a few small things the chiropractors at The Joint suggest you do each day in order to make wellness as much of a priority in your life as your health.

It’s the first step you can take to care for yourself since your treatments are based on your individual needs and centered around the results you want to achieve. Be diligent about maintaining a regular schedule of visits to the chiropractors at The Joint and make sure to follow your chiropractor’s suggestions for home care.

Sleep Well

Another important aspect of wellness care that is easy to control is your sleep schedule. You will spend about one-third of your life sleeping. It’s the time when your body rejuvenates, rests, and heals itself, after all. Just remember that the posture you sleep in has a good deal to do with your overall spinal health and wellness. Make sure to sleep on your side or back and never on your stomach. If you sleep on your stomach, the unnecessary pain and pressure is placed on your spine and can result in pain.

Think About Your Habits

Your habits can have a big impact on your health -- especially your spinal health. If you spend a large part of your day sitting at a desk, then you need to make sure you’re taking a break at least once an hour. Get up out of your chair, stretch, move around a bit, maybe take a walk to the water fountain. Whatever you do, just don’t stay in one position for too long or it could lead to pain and discomfort.

Also, make sure when you exercise you’re paying attention to your form. You can talk to your chiropractor about the ideal exercises for you and how to do them properly.
