Boost Health with Some Simple Fruits
By Tom Herrin
There is no need to worry about what to prepare for meals if there is some good planning put into the selection of foods used in meals. A good balance in most things is pretty important. People can get too much of a good thing. If they want to make some small changes or improvements, it really is not that difficult. Adding a few things can make the most out of what they do. One of those really simple things is adding pears. They are a fruit that babies eat early on, probably due to their ease on digestion. For big kids and adults, they can still do some good things.
They May Help with Weight Management
A lot of people have a really hard time trying to manage their weight. It is not easy for some to cut things out in order to reduce calories. An average pear has only around 100 calories, so it can work well as a snack. Since it has a high water content and high fiber, it can also help people to feel full longer as well as move food through the system effectively. Eating a pear a day is an easy way to be sure to stay on that diet.
They May Boost Immunity
People are more conscious than ever about foods that can help fight off diseases. There is much more information about those that contain antioxidants. Pears have a pretty good supply of nutrients, including many antioxidants. They have fair amounts of Vitamins A and C as well as beta-carotene, lutein, and zeaxanthin. Taking in many of these nutrients not only may help to combat things such as colds but also can be successful against some cancers. For many, it is well worth giving anything like that a try.
The Entire Family will Enjoy Them
Pears are naturally sweet and soft. Their texture is unlike anything else similar. We like to eat them with breakfast, simply sliced. We also keep them on hand to grab when we want an easy snack. My wife sometimes makes them into cobblers. I like them as preserves. There are countless ways to eat them. If you are shopping for something a little different to add to your fruits at home, pick up a few pairs and see the responses.
