Dr. Peter Alexander graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s in Exercise Physiology in 2017 prior to going to Life University and getting his Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2021. He joined The Joint team in 2022 at the Alpharetta North location in July and has loved taking care of his community, “i get more of a chance to talk with patients and get to know them to create a relationship there.”
Dr. Peter, as he prefers, loves the dynamic of his profession saying that “getting to use my hands to help people move better without the use of pharmaceuticals.” He loves creating connections with his patients, but in his spare time he does enjoy Martial Arts, sailing, camping, woodworking and disc golf. He was raised in Forsyth County, GA but was born in Toronto, Canada. He is with his partner, who is in chiropractic school, and the two pets, a lizard and a dog. He loves martial arts so much that he has gotten injuries through it, that is when he realized the benefits of this profession were far more than just pain control. “I was boxing a lot and competing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu when I injured my back. I wasn't able to really walk, stand or sit for any length of time. When I went to my primary care physician he didn't do an exam but instead prescribed muscle relaxers and pain meds. When I went to see my chiropractor he gave me an in depth look at why my back was injured so badly and got me on the right track to fixing the root cause, not just covering up symptoms.”
Dr. Peter always has tortillas in his fridge, because “burritos should basically be a food group for me. Breakfast? Burrito…Lunch? Burrito…DInner? You guessed it, BURRITO!!” When asked what a famous dinner party of four would be he stated, “the top 4 people in martial arts, Bruce Lee, Kimura, Rickson Gracie, and Dan Gable. It would be interesting to sit down with these individuals and find out what makes them different and special!” The coolest thing he has done is receiving his BJJ black belt in 2018, “it's an immensely difficult thing to do and along the way I went through a ton of trials and tribulations that lead me to continuing in the sport. I’ve had the honor of helping people not only learn a great martial art and get in shape, but also learn how to problem solve in high stress situations.”
Dr. Julia DeSeta graduated from Life University in 2019 with her Doctorate of Chiropractic, having gone to Southern New Hampshire University prior to Life University graduating with her Bachelor’s in Psychology. She Joined The Joint in late 2021 starting her work with the Alpharetta patients. Previously she has worked in a few different cities, Cumming and Woodstock, GA and Pittsfield, MA. She loves building relations with her patients, “I love building relationships with my patients and seeing them every week.”
Dr. Julia, as she prefers, loves “helping people get back to doing the things they love,” saying that “patients really are the best part of the job!” When she isnt showing her patients the utmost quality care, she enjoys horseback riding, hanging out with her animals, and hanging out with partner, Jacob. She has two animals, Pilot the cat and her dog, Fry. She was raised in York, PA and she realized that she was where she needed to be in her life, when she had “a patient thank me with tears in their eyes for helping them to get their life back.”
She always has Yasso greek yogurt bars in her fridge, saying that “ they are delicious and make the best end of the day treats!” When asked what a famous dinner party of four would be she stated, “ Gordon Ramsey, because he would maybe make the food and I have watched every TV show. J.R.R. Tolkein, because I want to learn about Middle Earth from its creator. C.S. Lewis, because he is a good friend with Tolkein so that conversation would be incredible and his work is amazing! Robin Williams, he would be a joy as a dinner guest!” The coolest thing she has done is, “Fox hunting, it was a really neat to experience such an old tradition. In the US we only chase the fox then we enjoy a warm cooked meal afterwards!”
