Dr. Roson Ray was born in Santa Ana, CA and grew up in Damascus, MD. Dr. Ray earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Doctorate of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in 2016. After being trained in extremity adjusting, Activator, Flexion-Distraction, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, and working with the outreach program in Davenport, IA, Dr. Ray was able to provide chiropractic care for the Quad City Mallards (ECHL), taught anatomy & physiology, and worked with pre-op and post-op knee rehabilitation patients in Iowa and Maryland.
Upon receiving his doctoral degree, Dr. Ray has learned to serve all types of chiropractic cases, including those who suffer from low back pain, sciatica, neck pain, headaches/migraines, sinus congestion, asthma, and numerous other conditions.
Dr. Ray derives fulfillment from the progress of his patients through the use of manual manipulations. His favorite part about chiropractic is witnessing this improvement without the use of medication. When a patient has been suffering from a chronic condition for an extended period of time, getting to the root of the problem and alleviating their pain/stiffness, is what he says is the most rewarding part of chiropractic care. As Dr. Ray has struggled with chronic low back and neck pain in the past, he uses the same exercises and gets adjusted weekly as well.
Dr. Ray joined The Joint in November of 2018, before the grand opening of the very first location in the state of Maryland.
In Case You Didn't know
Dr. Ray has been to 20 National Parks and 47 states. In his free time he enjoys hiking, playing basketball, racquetball, and most outdoor activities. Dr. Ray is a big fan of the Ravens, Orioles, Wizards, and Capitals alike. He loves nature and animals, and has three cats, or "fur-babies" named Turnip, Yolks, and Fig. In his fridge you will always find some sort of hummus (preferably organic) as well as an array of hot sauces, because he "does not consider it a meal" unless he is "sweating profusely.”
Dr. Garrett Okey Abadom was brought up in Mount Airy, Maryland. He graduated from Glenelg High School where he competed in sports such as football and wrestling. In his sophomore year, he won awards in the wrestling division. Also while in high school, Dr Abadom achieved accolades for joining the National Honor Society, becoming Student of the Month multiple times, and for receiving a Student of the Year award.
Dr. Abadom received the Presidential Scholarship to attend Widener University where he played one year of college football. He soon realized his passion was more in books than on the field. He spent his free time outside of the classroom with various clubs and organizations such as the Black Student, Pi Lamda Phi, Beta Beta Beta, the Environmental Club , the Physical Club, and the Boys Youth Club. In 2013, Dr, Abadom graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Biology and a dual minor in Business Management and International Business with a concentration in Economics.
In 2014, Dr. Abadom enrolled at New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, New York where he obtained his Doctorate in Chiropractic and a Masters in Human Anatomy and Physiology. He spends his free time with his family and friends while volunteering for the Baltimore City Boys and Girls Club and being a career coach in educating high school and college students in how to transition from “back packs to briefcases”. Dr. Abadom lost his father in 2017 and since then has been following his path of bringing new business opportunities to his homeland of Nigeria. It is with great pleasure that we welcome Dr. Abadom to our staff.
