Dr. Justin Tomblin opened The Joint Chiropractic’s Denton clinic location in 2010, where he has served residents for more than a decade.
“Chiropractic encompasses everything I love about healthcare,” he says. “I get to make real changes in my patients’ lives without having to rely on medications.”
Dr. Justin was born and raised in Southern Oklahoma and enjoys working on and building classic cars and motorcycles, which he enjoys with his adult son. He also has a couple of dogs, an American Staffordshire terrier named Zoe and a red heeler named Gus, who’s an Australian cattle dog.
Dr. Justin attended Parker College of Chiropractic, where he got a bachelor’s degree in health and wellness and a doctorate in chiropractic.
“I remember wanting to be in healthcare since I was in high school, but knew that I didn’t want to rely on pushing pills for a living,” he says. So, when I finally decided to go back to school when I was in my 30s, I started applying to medical school hoping to become a surgeon of some sort. According to the staff and faculty at the school I was applying to, the surgical specialties that I wanted were really difficult to get, and if you didn’t get chosen for residency in the specialties that you applied for, you basically got relegated to a general physician pushing pills, which is not what I wanted to do. My brother suggested chiropractic school. I had only been to a chiropractor a few times in my life, so when I researched it, I found that it fulfilled everything I wanted in service to people. Now I love what I do and can’t imagine doing anything else.”
He has built a business and culture that he is proud of, and couldn’t be happier serving the people of Denton. “It’s really rewarding that I have gotten to know a lot of my patients on a personal level and become friends with them,” he says.
In Case You Didn’t Know
Dr. Justin loves a couple of breakfast staples that he says he always keeps stocked in his refrigerator: bacon and orange juice.
If he could bring together any four people from history for his dream dinner party, Dr. Justin would send invitations to “Chuck Norris because he’s Chuck Norris,” he says, “Carroll Shelby because he created some of the greatest cars ever, Gen. George Patton because he was a badass, and George Carlin because of his intelligence and realistic views of society.” Dr. Justin is fortunate to have done many interesting things: “I'm Always Finding More Cool stuff to do and see.”
The Denton clinic location is proud that Dr. Tyler Sudduth joined its team in 2021 to provide important healthcare services to the local community.
“I can’t tell you how rewarding it is seeing the light bulb moment when a patient realizes how much better they can feel after an adjustment,” he says. “The other thing that’s great about being in this field is that it provides a new challenge or aspect every day. No patient or case is exactly the same.”
Born in Missouri but a resident of Texas since age 6, the doctor worked previously in Dallas. Dr. Tyler, as his patients call him, remains a fan of the NFL Chiefs and enjoys watching games with family and friends when he’s not just hanging out with them on his patio. He also likes walking his dog, Iris.
After attending University of North Texas and earning a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, Dr. Tyler went to Parker University to get his doctorate of chiropractic, and a master’s degree in neuroscience.
“I was sitting in a kinesiology class at UNT when a chiropractor from Parker came and spoke to the class about attending Parker University,” he says. “That was when the seed was planted and I began to explore that option more.”
He has not regretted it since.
In Case You Didn’t Know
Dr. Tyler says the four people from history who would comprise his ideal dinner party would be baseball pitchers Randy Johnson and Madison Bumgarner, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and actor Clint Eastwood. “I’d like to ask Randy Johnson about his career, and I’m a big fan of baseball and think it would be cool to talk to Bumgarner,” he says. “I’d include Mahomes because he’s a great quarterback for my favorite team, and I think Clint Eastwood could probably give a lot of wisdom and good advice.”v
One of Dr. Tyler’s great adventures took place when he was invited on a seven-day cruise “with my best friend and his family. It was the first time I had left the country and I got to visit Mexico, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica for a day each. Overall, it was a really great experience.”
Dr. Tyler says the one thing he always keeps stocked in his refrigerator is salsa: “I eat a lot of tacos and burritos and always try to keep salsa on hand.”
